Turnover of goods increased by 3.7% against the results of 2006 and amounted to 496.4 bn ton/km. Cargo turnover by air transportation increased by 21.3%, road transportation by 18.3%, railway transportation by 9.1%, and sea transportation by 2.5%. All railway roads of Ukraine showed augmentation of freight turnover: South-Western railway – by 12.7%, Southern railway by 9.6%, Odessa railway – by 10.7%, Donetsk railway – by 8.4%, Pridneprovskaya railway – by 7.9%, and Lvov railway – by 4.0%. Cargo turnover decreased at pipeline transportation (by 4.5%) and water transportation (by 10.3%).
Carriage of freights by railway augmented by 7.1% versus 2006, including forward of freights by 4.5%. Cargo dispatch increased in five national railroads: Donetsk railway – by 2.8%, Pridneprovskaya railway – by 3.6%, Lvov railway – by 4.6%, South-Western railway – by 12.1%, and Odessa railway by 16.6%. Cargo dispatch at Southern railway diminished by 0.5%. Carriage of coke augmented by 8.7%, cement – by 2.5%, iron and manganese ore – by 4.6%, ferrous metals – by 4.9%, iron-and-steel scrap – by 4.4%, timber cargo – by 12.4%, chemical and mineral fertilizers – by 15.3%, and construction materials – by 21.5%. At the same time, dispatch of staple commodities diminished: oil and petrochemicals – by 0.8%, coal – by 1.6%, and grain and grinding articles – by 26.4%. Average daily unloading of cars increased in general by 6.0%, including by 5.1% in Odessa railway, by 2.2% in Lvov railway, by 5.6% in Donetsk railway, by 4.8% in Pridneprovskaya railway, by 9.8% in Southern railway, and by 15.0% in South-Western railway.
Domestic sea and river commercial fleet augmented cargo transportation by 5.6%. In aggregate, 24.3 mn tons of freights were shipped to customers. Carriage by river transportation increased by 5.8% against indices of 2006 and by sea transportation – by 5.3%. Foreign carriages of freights by sea transportation decreased by 5.2%, and by river transportation – by 11.0%. Cargo processing in commercial and fish ports and at industrial berths (sea and river) incremented by 12.0% making 176.4 mn tons. Processing of import carriages increased by 19.9%, transit carriages by 31.0%, and domestic carriages – by 19.5%. Processing of export carriages dropped by 5.9%. The number of processed foreign ships went up by 10.9% and constituted 19.9 ths. units.
Ground transportation (including carriages by individual businessmen) carried 169.7 mn tons of freights in 2007 that is by 12.6% more than in 2006. Its carriage turnover amounted to 29.4 bn ton/km and augmented by 18.3%.
Main pipelines transported 196.1 mn tons of carriages, that is by 3.8% less than in 2006. Pumping over of gas decreased by 8.6% and ammonia - by 7.1%. Transportation of oil augmented by 13.4% Transit of oil augmented by 19.9% Transit of gas and ammonia curtailed correspondingly by 10.4% and by 3.7%.
Air transportation carried 102.6 ths. tons of freights in 2007 that is by 3.7% more than in 2006. Cargo turnover by air transportation amounted to 382.6 mn ton/km thus exceeding the indices of 2006 by 21.3%.
Approximately 8.8 bn of passengers used the services of passenger transportation in 2007. They were carried for the total of 144.4 bn passenger/km that is correspondingly by 7.2% and 3.7% more than in 2006.
Railway transportation in 2007 carried 447.4 mn of passengers that is by 0.2% less than in 2006. Forwarding of passengers increased by 1.3% in Pridneprovskaya railway, 2.2% in Southern railway, and 0.2% in Lvov railway. At the same time, it decreased by 0.5% in Donetsk railway, 1.9% in South-Western railway, and 2.0% in Odessa railway.
About 4.2 bn passengers used the services of automobile transportation (including carriages by individual businessmen) that is by 4.7% more than in 2006. Individual businessmen carried by 9.2% more passengers by ground transportation.
Sea passenger carriages dropped in 2007 by 29.5% against the figures of 2006. Companies of the town of Sevastopol making 80.7% of general sea passenger carriages diminished passenger carriages by 35.3%.
Foreign sea passenger carriages went up by 14.2%. Companies of Autonomous Republic of Crimea making 91.0% of general foreign sea passenger carriages increased passenger carriages by 14.4% in 2007.At the same time, river passenger carriages in 2007 diminished by 8.5%, while foreign river carriages increased by 21.1%. Air passenger carriages amounted to 4.9 mn people, that is by 12.5% more than in 2006. Urban electric transport carried 4.2 bn passengers in 2007 that is by 10.8% more than in 2006.
