Results of Ukrainian transportation work in January-April 2009
In January - April 2009 transport enterprises conveyed 206.5 mn tons of loads, that is by 32.4% less than in January - April 2008.

Turnover of goods was 105.5 bn t/km, that is by 38.3% less than volume of January-April 2008
Transportation of cargoes by rail comparing to January-April 2008 reduced by 32.0%, including sending of cargo– by 30.0%. Cargo freightage decreased on Lviv railway – by 43.0%, South-Western – by 42.2%, Odesa railway – by 40.2%, Pridniper – by 32.7%, Donetsk railway – by 24.7%, Southern – by 14.1%. Transportation of cement decreased by 57.7%, construction materials – by 54.7%, forest loads – by 48.3%, ferrous metals scrap – by 42.6%, ferrous metals – by 40.2%, coke – by 31.6%, iron and manganese ore – by 31.5%, oil and oilproducts – by 31.5%, chemical and mineral fertilizers – by 31.3%, anthracite coal – by 11.3%. Freightage of grain and milling products grew 2.6 times.
Domestic marine and river trade fleet carried cargoes in the volume of 2.2 mntons, that is by 61.9% less than the figure of January–April 2008. Transportations of loads by enterprises of river transport decreased by 72.7% from the volumes of January–April 2008, of marine transport – by 48.0%. Foreign transportations of cargo by marine transport grew short by 55.4%, river – by 63.1%. Cargo processing in trade and fish ports and on industrial moorages (marine and river) decreased by 9.9% and was 52.2 mn tons. Processing of import loads decreased by 56.1%, transit loads – by 16.9% and of intraconnection – by 64.3%. Processing of export loads grew by 22.2%. Number of treated ships – foreign and infreight – grew short by 24.4% and was 5.3 ths. units.
Enterprises of motor transport (taking into account transportations by physical persons-entrepreneurs) in January–April 2009 transported 37.0 mntonsof loads, that is by 30.6% less than volume of loads transportations in January–April 2008, and executed turnover of goods inamount of 9.4 bn tkm, which grew short by 12.8%.
In January-April 2009 trunkpipelinestransported 49.7 mnt of loads, that is by 32.6% less than in January-April 2008.Swap of gas reduced by 39.9%, ammonia – by 42.2%, oil - by 0.1%. Gas transit grew short by 49.8%, ammonia – by 24.5%, oil – by 7.1%.
For first 4 months of 2009 aviation transport conveyed 26.8 ths.tonsof loads, that is by 27.1% less than amount of January-April 2008. Turnover of goods by aviation transport was 106.3 mntkm, that is 18.5% lower as compared to January-April 2008.
In January – April 2009 passenger transport conveyed 2.5 bn of passengers, executed passenger work in amount of 39.7 bn .pas.km, that is less accordingly by 11.5% and by 9.7% than amount of January – April 2008.
136.4 mn passengers were carried by railway transport in January – April in 2009, that is by 3.7% less than amount of sending of passengers in January – April 2008. Transporting of passengers reduced on Donetsk railway – by 6.4%, Southern – by 5.2%, South-western – by 3.4%, Odesa railway – by 2.5%, Lviv railway – by 2.4% and Pridniper – by 2,2%.
Services of motor transport (taking into account transportations by physical persons-entrepreneurs) were used by 1.3 mn passengers that is by 5.6% less than amounts of passengers transportations in January–April 2008. Passenger transportations on motor transport of physical persons-entrepreneurs decreased by 5.5%.
Passengers transportations by marine transport grew short by 16.3% from amount of January–April 2008. Enterprises of Sevastopol, which performed 94.1% of total amount of sea passenger transportations, decreased passenger transportation by 16.8%. Foreign marine passenger transportations were reduced by 5.7% comparing to amount of foreign transportations in January–April 2008. Enterprises of Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which fulfill almost all sea foreign transportations (95.7%), decreased passengers transportations in January–April 2009 by 5.9%. Aviation transport conveyed 1.2 mn passengers, that is less by 17.7% than number of passengers air traffics in January–April 2008. For first 4 months of 2009 municipal electrotransport conveyed 979.6 mn passengers, that is by 19.3% less than amount of January-April 2008.
In January - April, 2009, services of mail and connection were sold to consumers in the amount of UAH 14,549.0 mn, that is by 0.2 % more than in proper period of previous year, including to population – in amount of UAH 5,540 mn, that is by 4.5 % less than in January - April, 2008.
Profits from services rendered at municipal telephone communication in period of four months of 2009 grew by 1.3 %, postal – 22.9 %, cable television – 25.2 %, computer – almost by 32%.
Profits decreased from rendering mobile communication by 3.6%, intercity (including international) communication service - by 18.6 %.
